WEEK 6 : Facebook
I have visited Facebook several times and had an interesting tour of Manukau Libraries Facebook site.
For personal and privacy reasons I choose not to sign up myself.
I have no interest in publishing personal information on the internet and would not use it myself.
I am well aware of the popularity of Facebook and know how to access and join.It is user friendly.
It's a great tool in Manukau Libraries toolbox with which to communicate and advertise our wonderful services.
I would be able to assist our Patrons as and if necessary -although my experience to date is that the people who want to use it already know how.

My mum is on Facebook and she has very minimal information on her profile because she says she doesn't want to get too personal about things. It seems to work for her, but then she's not the type to stick up pictures that are better left private (possibly because she doesn't own any but you get what I mean) :) In that sense and in that light, Facebook's privacy policies are not a problem for her at all. She doesn't go around pressing 'like' on everything on the internet so she evades that part of it, too. Others probably haven't fared so well, so I absolutely understand your refusal to sign up. Even if I don't agree with it LOL Although, as you state, you are familiar with the site, how to use it and how to assist customers :)
