The 23rd "thing"

Well my journey has been interesting , frustrating and fun

Time constraints because of the casual nature of my work opportunities made it challenging and at times stressful.

I commend the creators. Well done it has enlightened us all.

Like a bus trip around Europe it has given us the "highlights" and the knowledge to return when we are able, need to or wish to.

WEEK 9 : 22 : ebooks

Not too confusing this time.

From "Project Gutenburg" which was the first & largest single collection of FREE electronic books

to

"Kindle" Amazon's latest own-brand, wireless electronic book reader.
At launch priced at US$ 399 ( GBP 195 ) with 90,000 ebooks available at US$9.99 each for "Kindle"

Not sure about the logic , or cost for that matter, in having to purchase a ebook "reader" to conveniently "read" an ebook ??

Certainly fabulous for some , in some circumstances ,

but give me a "hardcopy" book any day ( a cup of tea, or glass of wine optional )

WEEK 9 : 21 : PODCASTS

The word " podcast" was 2005 word of the year!

Another interesting journey, but one which will require a surplus of dedicated time...

I spent some time at Nancy Pearl's podcast ( recommended by a friend )

Enjoyable but I found this exercise a bit tricky, so I enlisted some support.

I have created a RSS feed for this podcast to my blogline.

WEEK 9 : PODCASTS, VIDEO & ebooks

WEEK 9 :20 You Tube

I found this very interesting, a whole new interactive LIVE world.

Followed my "wanderlust" to "Mabalingwe Nature Reserve " Africa Travel.

WOW !

Up close and personal with the wild animals of the reserve. Almost like being there.

Also liked the more "newsy" clips reviewing new movies etc but would avoid some of the 'free expression' postings ( refer my comments about bebo and my space )

A huge potential ...

WEEK 8 : 18 & 19

Online Applications & Tools

I think these will be very useful.

The range of applictions seems endless.

I enjoyed the "Template" option which assisted in motivating the "beginner" in me.
